Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does PlayFair require an internet connection on the sideline?
No. PlayFair is completely offline-capable. Once installed, match timing, player tracking, and substitution recommendations operate smoothly even with zero cell service or Wi-Fi on remote game fields.
2. How does the 2-Tap Quick Substitution work?
Tap on any player currently on the field pitch. A bottom sheet immediately opens showing your bench players ranked by who needs playing time most and who plays that position. Tap "SUB IN" on your preferred replacement, and the swap is recorded instantly.
3. What if I make an accidental substitution?
Whenever a substitution is made, a floating 5-second "UNDO" button appears at the bottom of the screen. Tapping UNDO instantly reverts the player swap and restores previous shift clocks.
4. What do the colored rings around player badges mean?
PlayFair uses high-contrast traffic light indicators designed for outdoor glare:
- Green: Fresh / Needs minutes (sat on bench longest or behind on target playing time).
- Amber / Yellow: Balanced (on track for equal playing time).
- Red: Due for rest (long continuous shift or reached playing time target).
5. How do I share match summaries with parents?
At full-time, the Post-Match Fair Play Report displays overall squad fairness and individual player minutes. Tap the "COPY TO PARENTS" button to copy a friendly, formatted summary to your clipboard, then paste it directly into TeamSnap, WhatsApp, or an email update.
6. Can I configure custom game lengths and formations?
Yes! From the Match Setup screen, you can choose game format (7v7, 9v9, 11v11), adjust total match duration, set custom half lengths, and configure target rotation windows (e.g. every 8–10 minutes).
